As a Programs Assistant, Aaron Pope draws upon a background in nonprofit development, academic research, and political activism. Originally from Iowa, Mr. Pope canvassed for the Iowa Democratic Party and worked as a page in the Iowa Senate during high school. He planned and taught classes at the Institute for Urban Education and assisted in the development of courses offered at The New School as a research assistant. During an internship with the New York International Ballet Competition, he collaborated with the development team to write copy for advertisements and social media. Before joining the Vilcek Foundation, he worked at the New York Public Library as an information assistant.
Mr. Pope studied at The New School, majoring in literary studies with a focus on medieval literature. When he’s not working, he enjoys the cultural offerings of New York City in all forms.
